Setting Expectations 

Individual Health Coaching sessions are designed to:

  • Understand your current food and lifestyle habits; 
  • Identify what works for you and what needs to be changed, 
  • Explore specific solutions to help you achieve your goals. These include nutrition choices that you can make without starving or resorting to fad diets; and address lifestyle factors (stress, sleep patterns, exercise habits) that underpin your food choices;
  • Review the progress on the customized solutions and provide regular support to ‘stay the course’.

Structure:

  • Sessions are 50 minutes long
  • Sessions can be held in person or virtually
  • Bi-weekly sessions but can be customized depending upon your preference
  • Session packages are usually 6 months with 12 sessions. Shorter packages of 4 sessions, sessions and 8 sessions are also available

Session Content

Here is how your Health Coaching journey begins:

  1. You contact me for a free 20 minutes call for us to discuss what the program can offer you.
  2. After you have decided the package that works best for your specific needs, we conduct the 1st session in person or virtually. In this session, we discuss your detailed Health History to assess your current health and identify any further laboratory tests required, particularly for hormone conditions.
  3. From the 2nd session onwards, we will cover:
    – The basics of nutrition
    – Difference between healthy and unhealthy food choices
    – Small tweaks in your food choices to bring big results… again: no starving; no fad diets!
    – Your current lifestyle habits: sleep patterns, exercise routine, spiritual practice.

– Your emotional life: stress, anxiety, low self-esteem. I will apply specific techniques from my Emotional Eating specialization to discuss deep seated emotions that lead to your food choices and affect overall wellbeing.
– Specific steps to achieve your wellbeing goals by changing your current lifestyle habits or incorporating new habits;
– A food tour in a supermarket to help you read food labels and differentiate between healthy ingredients from the ‘nasties’ (preservatives, trans fats, artificial ingredients).
The food tour is included in the 12 sessions package.

As an Integrative Nutrition* Health Coach, I create a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your goals. Throughout my education, I have been exposed to the most cutting-edge dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you. Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together. As these pieces accumulate, my clients find these changes collectively creating a much larger impact than they originally anticipated. We work on what they want to improve within the circumstances of their unique situation.
