‘Hi I am Sheetal’
‘A mum of two boys aged 17 and 11 and a Health Coach’
This introduction invariably leads to two comments:
‘’Seriously ? You don’t look like the mum of two grown up boys”; and
“What is Health Coaching?”
Well I did look like the mum of two boys 10 years ago when I embarked on the quest to lose post pregnancy weight after the birth of my younger son. I joined a fitness club for the first time in my life.
I expected to quickly fall off the wagon, as most people who take up fitness quite late in life, do. However, much to my own surprise, I stuck to my new fitness regime. My weight fell away, my stamina improved and I became much fitter. My overall well being improved tremendously.
While the physical benefits were sufficient motivation to continue, what kept me pushing harder was my childhood experience: When I was 17 years old, I lost my father after a long illness and hence had come to appreciate the value of health.
As my interest in fitness deepened, I started realizing the role of nutrition in overall fitness and wellbeing. I conducted research on foods that helped in weight loss, improved skin and stamina. And then I decided to acquire a formal accreditation from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a USA based health coaching body ranked number 1 globally.
I firmly believe in doing work that has a positive impact on other people. For many years, I have been a Public Speaker, a co-ordinator of Toastmasters club for youngsters and also act as a volunteer to support people of determination.
An Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching practice allows me to combine my passion for health with interest in impacting others positively.
